The KPE Beyond Grace Collapsible Shoulder Rest is made for all violins sizes.
This shoulder is has the most flexibility, yet maintains enough rigidity to stabilize the instrument, freeing up the left hand to devote to fingering and shifting and vibrating.
 
The design has the basic look of the well-known Bon Musica, but it goes well beyond in several ways. First, the adjusting screws do not jut below the rest. This means that they can be fully screwed without any fear of scraping the top of the instrument or injuring the player. Further, the support of the center beam is ingenuously supported with specially designed springs that allow for some flexing of the beam while never warping down to the surface of the instrument's back. This has been a consistent problem with the Bon Musica brand. The main beam in that brand bends to the extent that it scrapes the varnish on the back of the instrument and may damage the back. 
 
The adjustment screws can also be lowered to a very low height without coming close to the surface of the instrument. The rubber coating on the legs also appears extremely well moulded from a very durable yet strong rubber. Thus, the legs should last longer than other brands without having to be replaced, while again protecting the rim of the back. Certain other shoulder rests have surgical rubber tubing stretched over the leg-grips, which tends to scrape the varnish slightly, and wear out, leaving sharp metal against the surface of the varnished surfaces. This problem appears to have been solved with wise engineering and materials decisions.
 
These improvements to this design make this a very flexible design and will serve the purposes of a much larger population of violinists.
